smal talk six: Movies
Small talk six, brough to you by the ladies over at momdot...
Today theme is: Six of the worst movies you have ever watched:
1. Brigadoon musical about a leprechaun who loses his pot of gold.
2. Bring it on. I don't know what to say, can't believe I watched it.
3. Where the wild things are.
I loved reading the book to my kids. A little boy is tired and grumpy, so mom sends him to his room. They added to much stuff, why can't he just be a normal little boy having a temper tantum. Everything hs to have a psychological reason. Boo.
4. What every women wants
I like Mel Gibson, I thought this was going to be a good movie. But....hmmm
5. War of the worlds
This is the 100th (seriously) remake of this movie, some I like most I don't. This one was true o the book, but Tom cruise failed miserably in his part. He shouldn't play a dad unless it is a dad heartthrob.
6. Scary Movie remake 100,000
Why didn't they stop at one?
Make sure you make it over to MomDot's, read more: leave message.

Dear Someone..
Dear Natasha
I know your birthday is coming up in a little while, three weeks two days and twelve hours to be exact. I know because you have told me no less then 33 times each day along with what you want for your birthday. Did we just do this in December? I think we did.
I am looking forward to your birthday, but only because I want cake and ice cream and cannot have it on any other day. But please don't remind me again you want a WII. I think I have it ingrained in my brain.
Thank
Dear Mailman:
Whatever happened to neither rain nor sleet nor dark of night? I really didn't appreciate you sitting in your warm, cozy mail tuck writing out one of thoses little pink slips for a package's that is smaller then a breadbasket, just because you didn't want to get out in the pouring rain. As it turns out th package was important, and I had to go all the ay to the post office in the pouring rain and retrieve it. Next time remember, you get paid to get wet, I don't.
Shortmama has a great Dear Somebody list...I don't today, but run over there and read where she has told her whole family off...thats always fun..Family of Shorts
oh and one more:
Dear Navy and Airforce pilots who keep flying over my head with your fighter jets and HUGE C-17's at all hours of the night....just one thing to say to you...
YOU GO GUYS! and thanks for what you are doing. I can sleep later, when you are all home safe.

Small talk six: ^ of your most vivid childhood memories
Small Talk Six six vivid childhood memories. I didn't have a vivid childhood, so this will be a little hard for me but I will try.
1. I remember going to my first Renaissance faire ( I was big into this stuff)
It was a camping trip, you have to be dressed in period costumes, and just try to go to a outhouse in a 1600 costume. I remember my dress was copied from Queen Mary of Scotland, many many petticoats and a truss. I was 14.
Later I changed to Civil War Reenactments, clothes were easier.
I remember Elementary school graduation, a boy I had liked forever asked me to sit with him at the movies, I was so excited I had a Asthma attack. right there. He never asked me again, luckily we went to different Juniot high
s.
I remember when we first moved to California, I couldn't believe how big everthing was. everyone teased me about my accent, coming from a little southern town it was hard to navigate the streets, and all the traffic.
My first communion, I was 12, I was catholic got to wear a white dress with a veil, I got my own lttle missal, a white bracelet and necklace. I walked importantly down the center aisle of the church, tripped, fell and reached out to catch the the girl in front of me to stop my fall. knocked her off balance and she sat there sobbing in front of allllll the people. While I stood there holding her veil in my very embarrassed hands
I am now a baptist. :)
Going on a school field to a mission San Juan Batista, being sooo impressed with the mission it was gorgeous, I came home in wonder that I didn't have any mishaps. Tripped getting off the school bus.
Again when I was 12, teasing my brother and his girlfriend until he got so mad he locked me in the basement, and forgot me. My other brother came looking for me for dinner and I was sitting on the basement stairs crying because I thought I was going to be down there forever.
See? Very Boring Childhood.

Dear Somone
Dear 2010:
Don't think I haven't noticed that you are starting out jusl like 2009. Tasha has a cold, I have a cold, Denise's blood pressure is up rediculously and Erich has some serious issues with his stomach.
And you call yourself the new year.
Well, Missy, for your information 2009 started out the same way. You can't fool us! For a minute we thought we were going to have to live through 2009 again with the sniffing and sneezing, but we figured it out as 2010 because this year Tasha can wipe her OWN nose. Mostly Last year she coldn't.
Although 2009 was supposed to be my year and it wasn't, 2010 will be and I am going to accomplish all the things I promised in 2009 and 2010, no matter they are the same things.
I am going to lose 20 pounds, get my diabetes under control as well as the rest of my health issue and my business is going to become profitable.
O love you, 2010, because I now have a expanse of 360 days to write a whole new life on and I can't
So it's okay you came in with thermonitors and aspirin. We are going to lick that and start on a whole new life trip.
Watch out or us, 2010, we are not going to take this year sitting down.
Dear Tasha:
You are going to be four this year and a whole lot of new things are going to happen to you, Nanny just has some things to say to you:
Stop picking on the cat. cats get mean when she is growling at you, this is definitely not a good thing. This is especially not good if you are poking her int he ribs trying to make her purr. Stop poking. Run.
Everyone is not nice. Don't talk to people you do not know without mom, Eric or Nanny with you. tell them you have to find your Nanny before you can even say hello. the RUN. Run straight to Nanny because I promise you, I will be there. Always.
There are other veggies besides spinach and cauliflower.
Really there are, and they taste yummy. Since at this point the only veggies we know you will eat is spinach cauliflower and sometimes when the moon is in the fifth quadrant green beans. Let me tell you abou wonderfull veggies like corn, peas, carrots...all different colors and flovors. Be adventurous! try a new veggie.
Like I said, this is going to be a smashing new year.
Now run over to Family of shorts, read other letters and say hello to Shortmama, tell her Angel sent you.

2010, didn't they write a book about this?
A brand New Year with nothing written on it! Anything new is exciting, remember how when you were a child getting the new pad of paper or the new book, with nothing written on it was sooooo exciting. You couldn't wait to fill up the pages with new things, new stories new
When I sit down to work on my book and stare at blank pages, I think of the words I m about to write that are going to bring forth new lives in the make believe, and I can make them do anything I want. Not so in the real world, of course. But writing has me excited, I always loved to write, nowit has more meaning.
So now I get to write on the new year, with new adventures that I am not expecting and surprises I can't wait to see.
Well, Thats fine you think, but nothing ever happens to me..
No? Hmm, well nothing ever happens to me either. Oh wait, I wrote a book. Never in a million years did I think I could do that. but I did and more excitly it is going to get published. WOW. I have my own business, I certainly didn't think I could do that, but I did. So maybe writing on the new year will not be dull as in pass years, maybe I will write something new and exciting, something I never thought would happen in amillion years. I am looking forward to 2010.
I got a new follower sometime last night, I am always excited to have a new follower because I don't have very many. So as usual, I ran and checked to see who it was, and right from the start something was wrong.
For one thing it was a man, and though that isn't unusual there are daddy bloggers, this one was a photographer. I didn't like that, I checked his other sites and they seemed to be blocked for "adult" content. I really didn't like that. So I checked his twitter and the first post he had was something from TD. Jakes, nice cover but I go with my feelings. I blocked him and removed all pics of Tasha.
It may have been harmless and lucky for me, my business blog with any personal information is not connected to my personal blog, but we have pics of Tasha on the web in several different places, I do and her mom does and uncle does, not to mention her dad. For a minute reality of the world sunk in.
We keep Tasha very protected, she is never alone, and though I am sure she is safe as we can keep her, chance steps in quickly I hope others are. If you post pictures of your children on your blog be careful of your followers.
I belong to a blog MomDot Trisha the Admin has gone through a lot with cyber stalking and I remember one post she made that sent a chill don my spine, she mentioned she had software that showed her one day her daughters picture had been uploaded. Why would someone do that,? We know why.
There are ways to protect your pictures, and all of us download pictures of our families and childre, No one has the right to take this from us.
Keep a eye on new followers, if you feel for any reason they don't have a legitimate reason to be following your blog or it seems strange they might, block first investigate. I'd rather apologize red faced, then suddenly find unacceptable pics of my granddaughter on the web.
Now, I am not trying raise alarms I am just relaying a concern.
There is nothing more in world I rather talk about then Tasha, so the whole thing made me upset. But I am a fighter, no one is going to invade my rights to be a bragging grandmother.
No sireeee not me
And so it goes......
