Tiem Flies when you are having fun

May your troubles last as long as your New Year's resolutions.

This quote is from a blog I follow and I certainly suggest you hop over and read it. It is a wonderful treatise on making resolutions. and I like his take on it.  You should read
Coffee with Marty anyway, The Author is insightful, funny and a delight to read. I believe he is an author or headed that way, if he isn't he should be. I'll bet his mother is quite proud.

I have read a lot of blogs and articles about New years they all center about making resolutions
and I have decided I am not going to. Making decisions for tomorrow is hard enough with it being the whole year, so I just thought about what I would like to change Next year.

I am going to get my book published if I can stop crying from the rewrites and cuts I am doing.

I want to feel better so I am going to eat better. I won't promise you won't ever see me at  a  Chick filet having a milkshae just that it won't be as offten.

I want to grow my business, that takes work and I am ready to do it.

I want to volunteer more.

And I want to grow my relationship with God, I want everyone to know everything I do is for him. That may not know that now, but they will next year.

I could say things such as, I want to smile more, be more friendly, etc, but that really isn't me and it just isn't going to happen.

Small talk six, looking forward to next year

Well, the gifts are open and wrapping paper is everywhere, You aren't quite sure how it eneded up in the bathroom or in the closet, but there it is. You have cups, saucers, paper plates, and etcetera from one end of your house to the other, and you wonder  how on earth the eggnog got in the bedroom, or the slice of cake was sittingonthe bahroom counter? Then you sigh for with all the signs it means you had a successful Christmas party.

And you remember fondly the highlights of the day, Aunt Edna's slipping the rum in the eggnog, the joy of the faces as they opened gifts or even better the different ways people open gifts they thought were horrible and said "uh thank you" politely. As I did when someone sent Tasha this beautiful heave coat with scarf, gloves, earmuffs, the whole kit and caboodle. Hello....we live in Charleston where the coldest temp is 40?
Thats ok we dutifully dressed her up and took her picture to send to them The weather has been colder maybe she will get a chance to wear it, the coat anyway. It was a nice thought, and I understand since the present came from Philadelphia.

I really find it interesting the many ways a person fixes , thinking they are hiding the horror behind their eyes as they ponder "What in the world is this???" or " I have fifteen of theses, now what," outwardly they are saying uh thank you I love it!  all the while looking like they have just eaten bad fish.  Oh the things we do for family......

But now we file another Christmas into our memory files, with the mess, the famiy arguements, the joy, memries, gifts, and everything else that goes with it. We are looking forward to next year and now comes the dreaded resolution.

Everyone has to have one, it is as american as Black eyed peas on Newa Years day, or Corned beef depending on what part of the country you live in.

And although most are broken by January 10, They are still fun to make. The ladies over at Mom Dot have a new take on it, they want us to name six things we are looking forward to.

Small Talk six this week is:
6 thing you are looking forward to in 2010.”

1. Getting my book published

2, Watching all the new things Tasha will be doing as a little girl instead of a baby she turns four in
Feb.

4. The results of drastic cahnges I am going to make in my life, I am going to radically change everything.

5, I am looking forward to doing better at Affliate Marketing, becomeing more organized.

6. Getting back on Track with God and totally revamping my spiriritual life, as He would hav me do it. I have been off track time to go back

Have a wonderful last week of the year, now run over to Momdot and see some other wonderful lists

And today is...

I am sitting here at the computer, with the TV in the background and it is begining to annoy me all of the ways the broadcasters are being very careful not to say 'Merry Christmas". I here Happy Holidays, and best wishes have a good day off....but not Merry Christmas.

I do hear Happy Kwanzaa and Happy Chanukah's, at least, I suppose, that is something. I hear a broadcaster say something about the spirit of the season, what is the spirit of Happy Holidays? Maybe I am stupid about this whole thing.

Do people who do not say , Merry Christmas, sit around a Happy holiday tree and open happy holiday presents? Do they use generic presents with genertic paper and read, A holiday carol, instead of a Christmas Carol? I have to laugh a bit. People are so busy not celebrating christmas they really are missing the fun and the spirit of the season. It has to be stressful to be so politically correct all the time, and that takes a chuck of fun out of the whole thing.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas, a Happy Chaunkah, a very happy Kwanzaa (I confess ignorance on this day, but enjoy it if it is your day) and while you are celebrating these days, you know what let me have a Merry Christmas. You see, what you do not understand is this it is not the holiday I worship, i is the Child and saying Happy Holiday is not going to erase HIS birth and I am still going to celebrate it no matter what you call it. God bless you all....

To all Kurker and comments and just everone...

Merry Christmas

And unto us  a Child is born and his name shall be  called
Immanuel,,,,

Thank you all who read my blog faithfully! I would love to hear from you in the new year, but if you don't want to comment or let me know you are out there, let me assure you you are appreciated

Small Talk 6 regrifting

Well thank you to the mom at Momdot, this week meme is 6 gifts you have recieved and regifted...
Well I have never re gifted, but if I did Here are the six gifts I would have re gifted..

1. A beautiful watch given to me by my then husband that said "save the Whales" with a big whale on it..now mind you I am all for saving the whales, and don't be offended if there are any save the whales members out there
But I am afriad it just was my thing, but I still have it in the attic or storge shed should you want me to re gift it...

2. A big can of popcorn by the same husband with deer on it, I like deer mind you just not with my popcorn.

3. a $10 mixer from the dollar tree....same giver  mixer broke down on the second use which happened to be that day when I was making Christmas dinner. I to couldn't compete with my nice big Kitchenaid mixer...I don't know why he give it to me when I had the other, so I didn't ask. Can't regift this one it died.

4. A pink, yes pink, HOT pink sweater from the mother of the above giver. I know where he got his gift giveing skills from

5. A crystal pig...it's cute I kept it, Eric broke it, end of story. Well he was only 5,  I should have given it to a more derserving home.

6. A gift basket from Swiss Colony...I was really excited..but it turned out it was regifted to me by the giver because she didn't like fruit cake, since it was already a year old and who knew how many years before then..I didn't regift it. It did make a wonderful door stop in a pinch.

I guess this turned out to be more of how many uh, strange gifts your recived ..I do have a post planned for that..

And so it goes...

Tweeting and the sudden loss of a child

http://www.inquisitr.com/52731/mom-criticized-for-tweeting-sons-death/
http://blaugra.typepad.com/blaugra/2009/12/sadness-death-compassion-anger-twitter.html

A mom of a two year old is tweeting to her peeps. Then she notices her toddler is missing and goes looking for him. Unfortunetly she finds him, at the bottom of the pool. It is too late to save him.

This mom is one of my followers and I follow her on Twitter, and when she tweeted after the incident I knew she was looking for comfort from her friends, I cried for her and prayed,  instead  from others, she got hatred, rude remarks, judgmental attitudes.

Twitter is your usual crazy world, everyone knows what is best for you, even though thier lives may be in a mess. It is easy to see what the other person did wrong.

No it isn't.

This is a tragedy of hugh proportions. This mom not only has given up her husband to the Air Forces, she has now lost a child and must feel horribly alone. None of those who feel it necessary to berate here, can feel her pain. You have to belong to a special club for that. I belong to that club. It is called, The lost of a child.

The first thing she did was think, "If only I hadn't been on Twitter.."

Then thousands of people were only happy enough to reinforce her guilt and make her feel worse.

We always know what is best for someone else, we are a quick group to blame, to judge, it is too bad really, we are not quick to show love and compassion.

To show forgiveness.

Every child who has drown in a pool it is because a parent did not lock the gate, innocently turned her back for three seconds to answer the phone, turn off the water, chicken on another child do a million other things that intrude on our vigilance

I don't know what we can d about this, but making the mother feel worse isn't it.

I feel sorry for this mom, and I pray for her. Can you do the same?

Dear Somebody Thursday!

Dear Somebody:
Here we are just a few ways until Christmas and I still haven't the Chrismas spirit. May be these letters will help. This is brought to you by Shortmama at the family of shorts Make sure you run over there and see the other fun posts.

Dear Soldier, Marine, Sailor fighter pilot, PJ, all of you serving in areas all over our country:
I under stand there are 369,000 of you in 150 countries all over the world: Tha means that one million plus father, mothers, wives, sweethearts, children, nieces, nephrews and, well you get the picure, are celebrating Chrismas with out you.

I am truly sorry.

But, I have to say, I am so proud of you, and so glad that you were willing to do your duty and go over there so we can safely celebrate here.
I know the government will supply you with a wonderful meal, but it is not mom's home cooking and the person sitting beside you may be you very best friend, it is not a loved one.
Thank you for doing this.
We are praying for you to be safe. Thank you is not enough for what you have sacrificed and what you are going throuhg, because Christmas comes one day a year, but, you are still facing combat, you are still "In Harms Way," and conditions still suck. Sorry for the language.

There are Americans here who care, i am one of many and though we can't make things any better, (I would if I could) please know that you are sitting at our table in spirit and we are thinking about you.

We appricate you fighting for truth justice and the American way ( all right thats suprman, but to me you are all supermen and women)
I appreciate your sacrifice and your families

I pray for the hardships to be alievated,

I pray for the violence to be little and the images to be soft.
I mostly pray for you to come home safe and your family to never have to visit Arlington.
I hope Santa is good to you.
God Bless,
A citzen

Dear Families who are not having a Christmas this year:

My heart is broken for you. We are not having a big dinner, but it breaks my heart that you are not having. I know it is hard to watch television commercials, and see tv programs and movies with happy families having happy Christmases.

Trust me this is an allusion, everyo has problems, you see I was like you when I was little, I never had a real or so called real Christmas until I was grown up, but I used to walk around and watch familes having real Christmas and feel sorry for myself. I thought everyone was happy except for me. Not True!
Christmas is about Jesus, and how much he loves you. If you are sitting in a car, I know you are having a hard time believeing he does, and you feel as if he has deserted you.

No, he hasn't. He still loves you, but there are things like free will and our decisions that he refuses to interfere in and this is why when we make bad decisions instead of just letting God control us we have to take the consequence. God will never inerfere in our lives or our will will.

I hope next year is better, the wonderful thing is, yousee, there is always a next year. and as long as you have tht you have hope, and you know what? That comes from God.

If I see you, I am going to give you some food to help you, but If I don't I will be praying for someone like me to come by, and I pray for your safety, peace and health
God Bless

Dear Tasha:

Chankah and Christianity - Christianity is Jewish

Chanukah's, the celebration of lights.
Ok, What is Chanukah exactly'? Oh you say, it's a Jewish Holiday. Well yes it is, but is Christianity Jewish? So why do we discount the Jewish holiday's as less important then the Christian Holiday's?

To me, the story of Chanuakah is a true miracle.

More than twenty-one centuries ago, the Holy Land was ruled by the Seleucids (Syrian-Greeks), who sought to forcefully Hellenize the people of Israel. Against all odds, a small band of faithful Jews defeated one of the mightiest armies on earth, drove the Greeks from the land, reclaimed the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and rededicated it to the service of G-d.
When they sought to light the Temple's menorah, they found only a single cruse of olive oil that had escaped contamination by the Greeks;miraculously, the one-day supply burned for eight days, until new oil could be prepared under conditions of ritual puri.

We get wrapped up in our traditions and forget others especially Jewish ones, that we should even though you don't go as far as I did by making Potato Pancakes I always go to far :)

When my kids were small, and I homeschooled I use to incorporate the holidays into our school schedule. Eric told me he was looking for a job once and a Jewish Rabbi needed bartender help, but he needed someone who knew the holiday and the food and drinks allowed so he gave Eric a test.

He was Amazed by Eric's knowledge of the holidays and the Jewish faith, but why not? Isn't the old testiment the Torah? and don't we follow the old testiment as well as the new? Weren't both God Breathed and God inspired?

At any rate the Rabbi calls Eric back every year to help out. I guess there are not many people in Charleston who understand the traditions.

WEll I am going to take advantage, this I would make Corned beef and cabbage but Denise might hurt me, she wants that for Christmas..

Happy Sunday everyone..

Six Small Things Sat: Disney

It is time for Small talk Six so it must be Saturday. This week it is 6 Disney Characters you've found to be most interesting...

1. Dorie: I don't care for Ellen, But Dorie is me. I can't remember my name much less the name of my kids and me?  navigating the ocean, Forget it. I get lost going to Wal Mart.

2. D'Artgen the Three Musketeers Disney Version. He achieved his dreams.
Besides being adorable, at his age I would have ended up in his same mess.

3. Hector Zeobroni/ Zero in the movie Holes. A good kid from a bad background who was a good kid inside. Stood up for a friend, even though he put him in the jail in the first place and fessed up. Good movie good role model.

4. Prince Caspian: The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, The kings and Queens of Narnia got on my nerves but prince Caspian didn't. guess I am just for the underdog.

5. Petes Dragon - The Dragon of course.

6.  Ok, Everyone has to have a princess Cinderella, is the less annoying of them all and besides, thanks to her I always thought I was going to grow up and find my prince. I have the fireplace, and shes as well as the broom. Gt my glass slippers put away and I'm Waiting Cindy, don't let me down...

Dear Someone thursday

Dear Someone Thursday, brought to you by the wonderful family of shorts, make sure you hop over there and read more letters

Dear Nanowrimo (National November Writing Month)

I finished my 50,000 words two days early and so felt completed to write 3000 more. I don't know why you never explained to me that even though I wrote 50,000words I still would not  have a book. It was depressing for me to find out, I still have left my characters in limbo. I left one in the middle of an airplane crash, and other one being proposed to. I am sure she would like me to come back and tell her what her answer is.  Sorry, Teri, to leave you in Limbo. But worse then that, I am sure Jeremiah is hanging on waiting breathlessly to see if he survives the crash. hmmm, haven't decided yet.

the point of this letter, that now you have me all hyped up on finishing the novel, and worse then that because people keep telling me it's good maybe  trying to get it published.

I want you to know, I never thought I'd be an author, and this just goes to show how when you are going along perfectly happy  with your life and ittakes a sharp left turn and suddenly you are thinking about becoming an author.
So back I go to the book, to tell you the truth Ia m a little excited, because I really want to know what happens to everyone and have grown fond of all of them..

thanks for giving me the chance to find out I can do it, and be willing to find out if anyone else thinks so..

Dear Santa

You already have my list from Saturday's blog. Ditto.

Dear Romana
gushing,,I am still soooo excited about the Bst Blog award..Thanks

your friend
Angel
